In this article we will provide you with tips for how to handle customer service in your business.

This article is built on tips from Conta’s very own customer service.

Be available

Be available to your customers. Make sure they know how to reach you. Also answer inquiries as soon as possible. If a customer has to wait an unreasonable amount of time to get an answer or to get hold of you, it may affect your business’s reputation in a negative way. If you can not answer the customer right away, let them know that you will answer ASAP.

Be humble

Be humble. Without your customers, you don’t have your business. You rely on them for success – so make sure you take good care of them!

Many will say that “The customer is always right”. Sometimes they are not, however try to explain and find a solution that works for both you and your customer.

Use clear language

A clear language is key to avoid misunderstandings. Make sure the customer understands what you are trying to communicate. This also applies to prices and making deals. Be clear about what your services or goods cost, and what the customer can expect.

A clear language will give you a more professional look. Small errors can seem sloppy and unprofessional.

Personalize your service

Be personal in your service. Use your customers name when talking to them and remember to sign off with your own!

If a customer feels like they are being treated as if they are a special customer, they will most likely get a better total experience. If you have an unhappy customer, this can also help you as the customer will have a personal connection with you and your business.

Create information and help articles on your website

This tip will vary depending on what your business does. But if you have a website, Tiktok, Instagram or Facebook page for your business, make sure that the customer kind finds the information they need.

In some cases you might want to upload pictures of your work, have a list of prices or services or maybe you need help articles? Map out what your business needs.

Many people do research before they make a purchase or order something. So make sure you have something your customers can read and understand.
